creating physical/CAD prototypes to test / develop ideas
carrying out any further research that is required
reviewing your development with your users & stakeholders
investigating suitable materials and processes
to show process by recording everything you do

Until you understand every aspect of your final design solution.

Each aspect of the idea has been considered, developed and refined.
Variety of skills and processes used to test, develop and demonstrate ideas. This may include, physical, virtual, mechanical, electrical, CAD/CAM.

Further research has been carried out and referenced if needed to support development process (make sure you ‘flag’ this as further exploration)
