SKETCH MODELLING
'Sketch modelling is the concept of using quick, low-cost modelling techniques to create simple 3D physical models that allow designers to better visualise their idea than they could do by sketching on paper.'
In order to access the top grades for the initial ideas section you need to show a variety of skills. As we know it is not always easy to explain our idea through sketching alone so sketch modelling a number of your ideas that are to as easy to explain through the sketches alone is a good idea.
You can use:

PAPER | CARDBOARD | OLD PACKAGING | TAPE / PRITT STICK / HOT GLUE

The key is to make sure it QUICK - DO NOT SPEND TOO LONG ON IT. They are rough sketch models to give an idea of form to help you process the idea but also to help you explain the idea to stakeholders and your user.

Photograph your models (at least 3) and annotate in detail to explain how it works.
NOTE: if it should a person should interact with it, take a photo with a person in, if it connects to another object, take a photo of it with that object!

A selection of concepts are identified for further exploration. Have 3-4 of these ideas been ‘sketch modelled’?
-
Have you explained why the ideas have been sketch models and what you have learnt from doing so?
-
Did you photograph your models in context (if possible)?
